ABOUT THE FOUNDERS

Amity is a support service provider, dedicated to empowering people living with disability to pursue an independent living and for those with mental health situation to develop a supported recovery oriented care plan towards wellness and fulfilment, to reconnect with the community and build a trusting relationship. We aim to initiate self-motivated positive change in life.
Amity is an initiative of a couple who been involved in the health care industry for more than 15 years working in various capacities either as support worker in aged care, disability and mental health sectors, and as health care professional providing care for people with chronic diseases including diabetes. We are experienced in working with Indigenous People and members of the CALD community having served in these communities to build capacity across Queensland and New South Wales, Australia.
Amity symbolizes our strong passion for friendship, harmony, and inclusion, mutual understanding, respect and dignity, which is our unique model used in supporting individuals across Australia.

WHAT IS NDIS?

Information to Getting started

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a new way to provide support to people with a disability, their families and carer’s. The NDIS is designed to help people with a disability achieve their goals and improve outcomes.

To become an NDIS participant a person must:

1.Have a permanent disability that significantly impacts your functional ability to take part in everyday tasks.
2.Be aged less than 65 years when you first enter NDIS.
3.Live in Australia.
4.Be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Visa holders or Special Category Visa holder.
